Publishing turns your preview into a live, fast static site that anyone with the link can visit. The flow is intentionally one click, but it helps to know what is happening behind the scenes and what your options are after the first deploy.
When you click Publish, RebelSites builds a static version of your site, optimizes images, and uploads it to the production network. Within a few seconds you have a permanent URL on the rebelsites.ai subdomain that you can share immediately. The site is served from a global edge network, so it loads quickly anywhere in the world.
Publishing requires an active paid plan. Free accounts can preview and iterate freely within the included generation limit, but the public URL is gated until you upgrade. Once you do, the first published site is included, and any additional sites you publish from the same account are billed at a lower per-site rate. Current pricing is on the rebelsites.ai pricing page.
Edits made in the chat after publishing are not automatically pushed live. They show up in the preview right away, but the public site stays on the last published version until you click Publish again. This is intentional, so you can experiment without worrying about visitors seeing half-finished changes. When you are ready, one click re-deploys the latest version.
The URL on the rebelsites.ai subdomain is a normal HTTPS link. You can paste it anywhere: text it to a customer, list it on a Google Business Profile, link it from a social bio. There is no soft launch or staging step. The link works the moment you publish.
Each project has a visibility setting. A public site is reachable by anyone with the link and is what you want for a customer-facing website. A private site is only viewable by you and people you explicitly share access with, which is useful while a draft is still under review. Public is the default once you publish.
Most businesses publish first and then connect a custom domain like yourbusiness.com. You do not have to wait. You can set up the custom domain at any point after publishing, and visits to the rebelsites.ai URL will continue working in parallel. See the article on connecting a custom domain for the full walkthrough.
Generated sites are static HTML with proper semantic markup, page titles, meta descriptions, Open Graph tags, and Schema.org structured data for local businesses. Search engines can crawl and index your site as soon as it is live. To help things along, submit the URL to Google Search Console after publishing and link to the site from your other online presences, like your Google Business Profile, social profiles, and directory listings. Visibility from search takes weeks regardless of platform, so the sooner the link is out in the world, the sooner it starts compounding.
