RebelSites uses AI to build and edit your website. Here's exactly how that works and what it means for your data.
We use Claude (by Anthropic) as our primary AI model, with Gemini (by Google) as a backup. The AI is accessed through OpenRouter, which routes requests to the best available model.
We don't build our own AI model. We use the same models available to the public, but with specialized prompts and systems tuned for building websites.
When you build or edit your site, we send:
Your business description and prompt text
Your existing site content (when editing)
Technical instructions for how to generate the code
Your email address or account credentials
Your payment information
Your contact form submissions or leads
Other customers' data
Your prompts: stored in our database so you can see your chat history and we can improve the experience.
Generated sites: stored on our servers for as long as your account is active.
AI provider retention: Claude and Gemini do NOT train on data sent through their APIs. Your business info is not used to improve their models.
No. Contact form submissions, analytics, and other visitor data never go through the AI. The AI only sees what you explicitly type in the chat and the code it generates.
